Nipple piercings! (Not just yet, but...)

Postby Hilikme » Wed Nov 04, 2009 12:57 am

I'm thinking of heading back to get something new done shortly and have been thinking of getting a nipple done (with the second to follow if all goes well).

I had a little question though... Of course I've been reading lots of different experiences and such, so I'm curious now...

It seems to be common for nipple piercings to lymph even once healed? If so, how do you know when they're truely done healing (besides just saying "oh it's 18 months since I got them done so they must be good by now").

Also, (keeping in mind that everyone's different, etc.), what's more common... I've read some experiences saying that they lymph every single day, some say that they never lymph, and some saying that they only lymph at some times during your cycle.... so what could I reasonably expect? I'm not sure I really want to deal with a piercing that'll be getting crusties every day for it's entire existance.... I mean, I can deal with the dead skin cells and such no problem but yeah. Is it true that better quality jewellery (i.e. titanium vs steel) cuts down on this?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, it's common for nips to ooze on and off for their lifetime.

They are fully healed when a reasonable amount of time passes (say, one year); and they are no longer sore or painful, when bumping or moving the jewelry does not cause discomfort.

Here's some stuff I wrote on nipples (shameless hussy that I am):

I think it depends on your usual healing 'style'? I have little trouble healing and had mine done about 3 months ago. No pain at any point and a little 'crusting' that I rinse off in the shower. I exercise regularly and if I get a bit sweaty I shower before I go to bed but that's it. Having had one done before I know that this means nothing and they could get pissy at any moment but prefer to look on the bright side!

Good luck!
