3rd tattoo scheduled

Postby pidjones » Wed Dec 17, 2014 10:52 am

I have booked my third tattoo for December 27th with Kris Ford http://instagram.com/krisford87/ at Studio 617 in Maryville, TN. I've followed his work since the Knoxville tattoo convention in August and I'm really looking forward to this. I want a realistic tattoo of a "faked" line - a line laid out for use on board ship in a figure 8 pattern that is ready when needed and will not coil, kink, or grab a leg as it pays out. It is ready for whatever. My life has been that way. It seems God has always prepared me for the next chapter, even when I didn't know what it would be!

Did Kris Ford do all the work shown on his Instagram page? If so, you should end up with a very nicely done tattoo. Some of those portraits showed a lot of depth and that would be awesome in a piece like this.

I'm happy for you already, lol.

I think he did all of them. I know he did the wood burnings. I watched him working on an update to the Dali elephant at the convention.

Got it! Photo removed until artist has a chance to fix it.

Thanks, but - it's called a line in the Navy. Ropes are made of twisted wire, lines are made of hemp, manila, nylon, etc. We get the distinction pounded into us pretty well.

Yeah in the army it's guns and rifles .... "This is my rifle and this is my gun, one is for fighting one is for fun."

Any Navy poets write us a "line" or two on the subject?

In boot camp, we kept our "pieces" in the "whorehouse". But, after boot camp I held a Navy firearm exactly once - 45 cal training (pointless, engineers never carried them) and I could throw it more accurately than fire it (and I an have awful throwing arm). We just carried around 16 multiple-reentry-capable nuc missiles and rather nasty torpedoes. We won our war without firing a shot in anger.
