I read and liked your review, it was genuine and informative. As a licensed piercer, I'm always more than happy to show customers and potential clients that their health and privacy are priority #1 with me! For those in the business who do not follow strict sterility practices, and treat their clients to a side-show during business, aren't deserving of a glowing review! I think it's important to keep the community aware of these hacks, and you did so in a respectful and professional way. Don't take the silly backlash to heart- they're probably just some ignorant kids venting for the hell of it.

I had to post! :)
That Stephanie girl was nitpicking by posting a pile of replies!

your blog Cloud! You're very good at what you do so don't let anyone tell you otherwise! All your Tribe friends know you are the Grand Dame around this place because you know your piercing stuff, and if you don't know you go to great lengths to find out the answer!
You should have seen your face when I said "I sell drugs for a living."

thanks. they're still on me. Do you think I should go back, make an appointment with a piercer? They've obviously upset at what I wrote.

Cloud,
I have to say that I just saw this and read the blog post of reference. I have some things to say abiout that: 1) you were too nice in the review. 2) those commentors sounded immature and lacking in knowledge. I'd have been really nasty and harsh in the review (downright bitchy). I have had problems with piercings as I am sure everyone has, although nothing major, the did cause me to remove the jewelry three times only to get repierced three times (not including the initial piercing). That means hole #1 ha been done 4 times (Left ear, h1 has two holes and the right, h1 has three). And mainly from piercing stupidity and boo-boos. Major pain-in-the-***! I loved your review, nice and neutral!

Okay, I read the blog and added my comment, wordy of course, but there were a couple things I couldn't see. One was "Primal says" with a date and time, but no comment, and also one "Stephanie says," same thing. Do I have to click something, is the comment hidden, or was it removed? Anyway, I did think your blog was fair Cloud, since you didn't out and out bash them (where is Bash these days anyway?), and they kept making the point of "if you wanted to see things, you should have asked." So my comment over there makes the point of "Yeah, she could have asked, but what if she had been a new piercee, considering a 1st or 2nd body piercing who didn't know the questions to ask." So hopefully you'll read mine, but like the others here have said, you gave your opinion, you weren't name calling or using sarcasm, and you didn't attack the shop or the other people, so I think your blog was completely appropriate, and most of their comments as well, although, there was a little snippiness at a couple of points. Don't lose any sleep over this.

I appreciate all your remarks. This is why I don't do reviews often. I'm not a trained journalist, and am never sure what is the right ethical line here. Do I do a stealth visit? Do I announce my intention beforehand? What?
Furthermore, I'm a bit of a wuss, since this is really bothering me. Was I really unfair? Should I go back?
Since I'm not really an ahole, I'll probably let myself calm down a bit, and go back and talk to them. I'd be kinda afraid of getting pierced there now, because I'd be afraid the piercer would--stick it to me. So to speak.

Cloud,
As a relatively noob piercee, I think it's so great to hear shop reviews from experienced piercees like you, even if you are not trained in journalism. Your experience tells you what you need to look for in a piercing shop, and that knowledge trumps formal journalistic style training. As long as you write with decent grammar and spelling, I'm glad to read anything you have to say.
It's hard to find honest, informed opinions about different piercing shops out there on the web. From my research, I pretty much only come up with things like "this place is cool" or "oMGz, tHiS pLacE suckSss." I appreciate your evaluation because you show what needs to be done when checking out a new piercing shop, and that safety, cleanliness, and comfort always need to be top priorities.

My comment didn't show up. I guess html isn't allowed in the comments. I was trying to post these:
