I ROCK!!!

Postby c300rocks » Fri Nov 06, 2009 9:21 pm

I got my nostril done tonight!! Yeah!! It was awesome!! Very little pain, minimal bleeding.....a great experience! I'm so high on endorphins right now I could fly! It looks great too! One question: what's the best and easiest way to do SSS on this? Would H2Ocean spray be better? Thanks for any insight. I have bragging rights tonight! Right on!!

congratulations on you new piercing!

as far as aftercare, h2ocean is just salt water with some other junk in it (i dont remember exactly what off the top of my head). that other junk can irritate piercings, depending on your body of course. not to mention, what makes SSS so effective is the warm, soaking effect. this is rather difficult to achieve with h2ocean. i'm currently healing a septum so i understand that soaking your nose can be difficult, but you can always soak a q-tip or cotton ball with the salt water and do a compress with it. there are instructions stickied at the top of the "healing and aftercare" forum. to save you time, money and some math work, the easiest thing i've found is to get a gallon of distilled water from the store, along with some sea salt (make sure there are no anti-caking agents or iodine in it) and mix 4 teaspoons to one gallon of water. then all i do is pour the water into a disposable bathroom sized dixie cup and microwave it for 20 seconds to warm it up. if you do use cotton balls, etc, make sure to use tweezers or something to remove any fibers that may get snagged on the jewelry, as you don't want that left there to irritate the piercing.
hope this helps...

Get a shot glass fill it with the proper mixture of warm sea salt water and dip your nose in it for 10 minutes two times a day. Then be sure to rinse with freshwater afterwards then carefully remove there loosened crusty gunk with some sort of one time use product such as a paper towel or something..then you're all done. u:0)

Stick your nose in a mug of sea salt mix. Blow bubbles to keep occupied or just breathe out of your mouth for the time being. :)
