Why Self-piercing is a bad idea.

Well I`m a devout coward ? u:E and as for sticking a needle through my most prized possession and risk infection for the sake of the cost for a professional piercer doing it ???? one wonders u:R

Well, I'm not gonna lie and say I haven't self-pierced myself, but I have defintiely learned my lesson. I FOUND a sewing needle in my cousin's house and decided to use that to pierced my third holes back when I was maybe thirteen. I don't even remember if I sterilized it... I still have the piercings now but hopefully I never got any serious blood infections from that.

I also did my fourth hole in my left ear (this time I just used and earring and used alcohol to sterilize it beforehand).

The self-piercing that made me stop doing this was my tragus in my right ear. I decided to pierce it, with JUST an earring, which caused the hole to not be deep enough. Eventually the piercing migrated right out, so I did it again, my tragus got very swollen and I ended up taking it out about a month after I did it. Now I have a small scar there.

i couldnt bring myself to pierce...well... myself. i have a mad fear of needles yet i have 10 piercings(had 12). the doctor wanted to give me a shot and i was hesitant for like 15 minutes. i cant imagine what it takes to have a needle in one hand and part of your body in the other then put the two together. its self mutilation in my eyes. i stand loyal to professional piercers no matter the price. at least its done in a safe environment.

my first 2 piercings were with a gun (at the time no one new it was bad) my 3rd and 4th were self pierced because i was in highschool and "everyone was doing it" and i didn't know better. the gunned ones were infected continuously (yes infected!) and now over ten years later are finally healed right. the self done ones were both crooked, changed and still crooked with a nice chunk of scar tissue above each. so theres a big example for no to piercing guns and no to self piercing.
