New, septum

Postby kaz_am » Thu Feb 12, 2009 12:00 am

I finally gathered up the courage this afternoon to get it done (after circling the block several times imagining worst-pain scenarios, etc.). I got it done this afternoon at my now-usual place. Josh puts up well with my chatter (I babble about random stuff when I get nervous), and he's damn good at making me feel at ease while he hovers near my person with a pair of clamps and a big scary needle.

I picked a circular barbell over a retainer simply because I prefer how it looks. Josh bent it open a little tiny bit for me so I could flip it up and down a little bit easier, but not wide enough so that I have to worry about it flying out when I sneeze. The pain level was about what I expected; the clamps made me wince, the needle wasn't too bad, and it was putting in the jewelry that made my eyes water. But it stung for a few seconds, then everything felt fine. For the first few hours afterwards it was pretty tender despite me popping a few ibuprofen, but it's more or less fine now. I soaked it after dinner and flipped it down to take pictures, etc. and now it's resting safely back up in my nose.

I think this is my absolute favorite piercing so far :3 But now I'm holding off on new piercings for a while and just concentrating on my ear stretching while everything else continues to heal.

kaz_am got her septum re-pierced. Copious amounts of ibuprofen are awesome.

It looks great, and it's nice to know it's not just me that talks rubbish when I'm nervous!

Congrats!
Imagine this: You see a beautiful car for sale; it's smooth, it's shiny, it's got an engine to die for and handles like a dream but it occasionally misfires.

Do you buy it? PM me an answer for an explanation :p
